Spring-springing (Part 3) | 2015

I finally managed to find a little time off from business, so here it is; my garden after I applied the newly bought snail and slug killer by Bayer (as mentioned here).

The results are amazing! For the first time, I can see flowers growing without being chewed. There's a lot of dead slugs and snails all over the place, especially behind the pots and around the hidden areas in the garden.

Villa Carlotta 2015 | Italy

Built at the end of 17th century in a natural basin between lake and mountains, Villa Carlotta is a place where nature and art live together. The perfect harmony displays masterpieces in the gardens, including sculptures and fountains. Thanks to Gian Battista Sommariva; a politican and a patron of arts who bought the villa in 1801; the place became the most important halting-place with its fascinating garden, facing the peninsula of Bellagio.

However, in the second half of century, the villa was bought over by Princess Marianne of Nassau as a gift to her daughter Carlotta (thus, the name it gets) during her wedding with Georg II of Saxe-Meiningen who was passionate about botany. A lot more improvements were added, particularly a collection of Rhododenrons and Azaleas for spring flowering garden.

Spring-springing (Part 2) | 2015

The first day of Spring 2015 in Italy! How exciting that we can finally sow seeds outdoors without worrying of dangers of frost. Unfortunately, our garden faerie Alisha has not been feeling well, so she couldn't join our adventure today.

Brought outside my Lemongrass, assuming it should be fine. I also noticed that I might have actually grown a Bay baby tree without realizing. The seed from last year must have germinated over the Winter and now it has developed into something I could identify.

Spring-springing (Part 1) | 2015

Spring has sprung! YES! No more stiff muscles, abdominal pains and crystallized honey in the jar. So, for the first time ever, I'm inviting all of you to our humble spring garden. Introducing Alisha, a curly-headed garden faerie who is also our baby girl. She is always outside when there is sun, tending her favorite flowers Camellia and Daffodils (and turning them into a pot of stew).

I felt inspired with the leaf buds showing and opening, at least I know that my hard work from last year has paid off.

KalaMitica: The Original Magnetic Flower Pot

They're not just cute; they're practical too! One hundred percent made in Italy, these KalaMitica magnetic flower pots stick firmly to any metal surface (including the fridge door) and the strong magnet makes it impossible for these pots to fall off even if they are filled with heavy inner pots.

The premium line of KalaMitica pots comes with detachable magnets which you can remove in case you have to give the pots a good clean. These pots are washable in dishwasher as well. No hassle at all!

What I love the most about these pots is that they're made with really sturdy plastic that you can't even bend it if you try. Almost as hard as bending a Lego piece (which is impossible!). They fit beautifully as tabletop decorations, especially for small plants such as Cacti, Tillandsia, Hyacinths, Orchids and so much more, feel free to name them.

The pots come in many colors, shapes (rounded bottom, cylinder, cube, and pyramid) and sizes for you to choose from, depending on which part of the house you're planning to place them. For those with limited space such as apartment or an indoor garden, you can either stick them to the grill windows of your house, or make a vertical garden by installing one of these cute metal plates.

I have acquired some KalaMitica magnetic pots for myself and I just can't wait to be decorating my table and my kitchen wall with them.

Read further to find out more on the sizes and colors available. Feel free to contact us if you'd like to make a purchase.

Exhausted Bulbs - What To Do

How do we know whether the Tulip is dying down from exhaustion or just dead?

It's simple. Wait until the leaves are fully brown that you can easily pull them off from the bulb. Make sure you don't mistakenly pull the growing ones.

The green color for growing leaves.
The one that is not growing anymore.
