Unpacking Your Bare Root Rose

As soon as you received the bare root Roses, soak the roots in water for while. Examine the length of the canes, also whether the tips are blackened. Prune the black parts.

To promote vigorous growth, it's wiser to prune the canes to about 5 inches before planting the bare root. By doing this, the plant will also spend more energy on establishing roots first, rather than growing leaves.
